HOW TO USE IT
Summer Learning Program
The Summer Learning Program (SLP) provides free breakfast, lunch, and programming during the summer. The program is 7 weeks long, June 22nd through Aug 7th. Monday - Thursday breakfasts and lunches are provided by the Shippensburg Area School District’s Ship’s Galley through the USDA Summer Food Service Program. All children in the school district region are welcome to come eat regardless of registration in the SLP program. Fridays are SLP Field Trip days! Snacks and Friday meals are provided by community members and churches for SLP participants.
WHAT IS IT?
WHERE: Nancy Grason Elementary

WHO: Children who have completed K-11th grade
WHEN: June 22rd - August 7th 2026
No programming on July 3rd
TIME: 8:30 am to 12:00 pm. Monday - Friday
Breakfast is served from 8:30 - 9:00 am and lunch is served from 11:30 am - 12 pm to anyone 18 years and younger. You do NOT have to register to come and just get a meal! Programming is from 9 am to 11:30 am. Children can come for one day, two days, any days! Registration will be available online.

HOW CAN I HELP?
Volunteer
Volunteers are always needed to assist with daily activities and field trips, provide snacks, do a special activity with the children or be guest presenters. We like to have 2-4 volunteers daily!
All volunteers must be 18 years old or over and must complete the child abuse clearance check and criminal background check. If you are looking to be a volunteer or want more information on the Summer Learning Program, please contact our SLP Director at youth-scrc@shipresources.org or 717-477-1961.
