HOW TO HELP
The Hound Pack program coordinated by an AmeriCorps VISTA, SCRC's Community Health Mobilizer, and our community partners, Shippensburg First Church of God. It serves any student living within the Shippensburg Area School District. During the pandemic, we are delivering the food bags to participant's houses since not everyone is in school. If you are interested in volunteering, we need volunteers to help deliver the food bags. Community organizations and businesses can also partner with Hound Packs. Please contact VISTA@ship.edu to find out how you or your group can get involved.
This program is funded by donations from the community, including the Shippensburg University community and the Volvo Construction Equipment employees. Lastly, we would not be able to do this program without our partnership with the Shippensburg First Church of God. We store food and pack the bags at the church every week. Also, they coordinate the purchase of food through the Central PA Food Bank and assist with fundraising. We are grateful to all of these organizations for their financial support of Hound Packs!
